Buyer Beware During Home Tour

Should you be discussing the house you are touring as a potential home to buy while inside that house?

TomsTIP: SILENCE IS GOLDEN!

Be cautious and aware, that with the increasing integration of technology into homes, concerns about privacy and security have become more significant. Smart devices such as voice assistants, Alexa, smart TVs, and security cameras can potentially be exploited during negotiations. It’s essential to be cautious about what you say and where you say it, especially in environments where technology is present, and always assume technology is present. DO NOT talk about:

  • Your Budget.
  • The Amount You Will Offer.
  • Negatively about the neighbors.
  • The Seller’s Personal Items or Home Decor.
  • Any Personal or Confidential Information.

Being mindful of your surroundings and having sensitive conversations in private, secure spaces outside the home can help minimize the risks associated with potential eavesdropping or surveillance.
